This project deconstructs the KAJ watch by Karim Rashid, isolating its sculptural watch body to design a custom housing that redefines its form and function. By integrating new materials and reimagined structures, the housing enhances the watch’s futuristic aesthetic while exploring new ideas. To push the boundaries of design, we opened the project to the public, inviting creators to contribute open-source designs, sparking a collaborative evolution of the timepiece. The result is a dynamic fusion of Rashid’s bold vision with a community-driven, industrial design experiment.
